Peak Load Contribution Management (PLC)

What is it? Your PLC is the average kW (or MW) draw that your business contributes to the 5 PJM Coincident Peak hours. In most cases, approximately 15-25% of your supply price is based on your PLC. If you can reduce your kW usage during those 5 hours, you can reduce your annual supply costs by a substantial amount.

What does this mean for you? You can dramatically reduce your annual cost per kWh by reducing usage during these hours!

URA will be watching the PJM’s predicted usage during the summer and will advise as to when we predict the peaks will occur. If your company can curtail usage on the day/time of the warning, you can reduce your annual capacity obligation and effect some great savings on your next year’s supply costs.
